Should i trust cnet downloads (for minecraft)?

-i want to download minecraft beta from cnet because i think its free from there, but i dont know if its safe. what should i do?During all my years being on the internet (15 years) I have always trusted cnet. I have downloaded tons of stuff from cnet. Not sure though about minecraft being free?Why do you want it for free? You have a computer but you can't afford a 15 euro game. That's like 19-25 dollars. Go to a friggin Macy's and buy a pre-paid Visa card.

Obviously theres risk involved in any illegal download but I've never had any trouble from cnet and use it frequently for programs I would otherwise have to pay through the nose for.
